This Kitty Needs a Home
Founnd him this evening at Times Beach Nature Preserve in Buffalo, NY.
Came home and got carrier and food, went back and brought him home... But I can't keep him because Karma explicitly told me he wants to be an only child.
Seems like some mean person abandoned him at the Preserve. Left him to starve. He is not at all feral and ribs showing, so not faring very well on his own.
He will go to the ASPCA tomorrow unless someone claims him soon. This photo is posted on craigslist for Buffalo, and also on facebook Pet Alert of WNY.

Karma's Kondo
I bought this at a garage sale last summer. Tried to get him to use it... go inside, scratch on it, climb on it....
I tossed treats inside, sprinkled it with catnip, tried to place him on it. All to no avail.
Seven months later, Jan 2, 2013, I see he has made himself at home.
Was two years before he finally used his scratching post. I guess the condo is an improvement.

Vacation with Pets

I have to say that the two dogs who accompanied their nine humans on vacation this spring were very well-behaved. During a week at the Outer Banks, they went everywhere we did, except to some of the restaurants. Pearl and Louis especially liked beachcombing and smelling all the new and exciting places and people.
We had rented a house that accepted dogs (but not cats--so Karma had to stay home with a sitter). Always call ahead and make sure your pet will be welcome.

Karma Loves to Play

Karma Boobala Puddypat loves to play games. One of his favorite games is called walking on the keyboard when Mom's playing games. Another game he likes a lot is called pushing things off of other things. This is a very exciting game, especially if the thing he pushes is full of water or milk. And the farther something falls, the better. I think he awards himself medals according to the resulting mess. If I have to grab a towel from the laundry, he wins bronze. If I have to grab the vacuum cleaner, he wins silver. And if I have to run madly for towels and vacuum cleaner, he takes home the gold.

Louis is so weird!!!!
My dog Louis is so weird! He loves fruits and vegetables... and pretty much anything he can get his paws on. He can open book bags and purses. Sometimes when he gets really hyper he will start running around our living room. It is strange our dog has eaten so much chocolate but hasn't died. (knock on wood)!!!! Oh, did I mention he is a bichon frise and is really cute. However he is'nt a show dog like most bichon frises. He doesn't have that really puffy hair around his face but he is cute. Also our dog loves to stick his head out the window while he is in the car , like most dogs, but he looks funny. If you actually knew my dog you might call him cute but I call him weird. However he is my cute little weirdo!!!

One Smart Cat

A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park. As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.
The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast out and headed home. As he turned into his driveway, there was the cat! He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home.
At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there. Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Jen, is the cat there?"
"Yes," the wife answers, "why do you ask?"
Frustrated, the man says, "Put that darn cat on the phone, I'm lost and need directions!"

Kissing Dogs, by Debbie

According to a new survey of 2,069 people by Harris Interactive, 30 per cent of men and almost half of women -- 49 per cent -- are uncomfortable greeting strangers with a kiss, while 41 per cent of women and 32 per cent of men claim the only people they socially smooch are immediate family members.
Animals prove the exception to any coyness about kissing: Almost half of women and more than a quarter of men admit they go lip to lip -- or, more accurately, lip to snout -- with their pets. (Mostly Dogs)
Dog kisses are powerful. One woman had been blind for ten years, even surgery couldn't fix her problem. But when her beloved guide dog kissed her, poof, her blindness was gone and she was healed.
Another dog kissed his master and saved her life from a deadly bee sting.

What It Is

"I'm not one to complain,....but aside from his ability to read, my best buddy and brother (of another mother), has no idea what it takes to run a household.
He lounges around, licking his feet, while I go out into the community and work hard, so he won't have to.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my brother, and I love my job....but he only THINKS he is the boss.
And that's because I allow it." _Mary

Bat Snack

I caught a bat the other night, yes I did. I tried to bring it to Betsy, but the varmint put up such a fight. There was blood everywhere. Tasty, but not as good as Fancy Feast.
They have teeth, you know? Nasty little sharp ones. It bit my foot, so I let it go. Meowwww-ow-ow. The next night Betsy found it. It bit her, too, when she tried to pick it up in a plastic bag. She didn't know how sharp their teeth are. I tried to warn her.
But she finally got it in a jar and took it to Public Health. Rabies report should be back tomorrow.

HEADBONKS
I'll have my photo up soon, but for now imagine Garfield. Unlike that fat cat, I don't like lasagna. But I do like tomato sauce, especially the kind my CG (caregiver) gets from Aldi's. In my opinion, the cheaper brands are purrrrfect.
I hope to have all my 4-footed and winged and slithery friends come here to voice their views on life, and also to meet new animal friends.
Meow.
